ARTstor Research Collections: New & Improved
Description: The ARTstor image database has recently enhanced both its content and functionality. Not only is it now quick and easy to use, but it also includes several specialized collections relevant to Museum research needs. This class will provide an overview of new ARTstor content, focusing specifically on collections such as the A.C. Cooper and Sansoni Archives of the Frick Museum, The Illustrated Bartsch, The Gernsheim Photographic Corpus of Drawings, Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise, and The Mellon International Dunhuang Archive. We will also look at the collections of modern and contemporary artists, and collections in the areas of Asian, Islamic, Classical and Egyptian art.
Class Level: Level 2 – I have some familiarity with the Watson Library and am looking for resources beyond the basics.
Location: This class will be held in the Uris Center Rooms. See Uris Center map (link accessible inside the Museum).
