Early American Newspapers, Series 1-3, 1690 -1922

Connect

Early American Newspapers, Series 1 – 3, 1690-1922 offers fully searchable issues from over 1000 historical American newspapers.

Series 1, 1690-1876 focuses largely on the 18th and early 19th centuries and is based on Clarence S. Brigham’s “History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820” and other authoritative bibliographies.

Series 2 and Series 3 each contain issues from significant 18th through 20th century newspapers.  These are based primarily on the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS), which houses a vast collection of American newspapers and also includes titles from the acclaimed newspaper collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society and more than 90 other institutions.  Series 2 and 3 contain newspapers from all 50 states.
