Robert Lehman Collection
The Robert Lehman Collection Library contains approximately 23,000 books, as well as archival material and photographs. Its research collections cover a broad range of European fine and decorative arts, with special emphasis on the art and history of Siena, Italy.
The Museum libraries’ online catalog, WATSONLINE, provides access to the monographic holdings of the Lehman Library.
Hours and Access
Museum staff and visiting scholars in the Thomas J. Watson Library may request books from the Robert Lehman Collection Library through WATSONLINE. The requested items will be retrieved from the Lehman Library and brought to Watson Library. For visiting scholars, they will be put on hold for one day to be used in Watson Library. For MMA staff, they will be loaned for one week.
Qualified scholars who wish to browse the Robert Lehman Collection Library may schedule appointments on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please call (212) 650-2340, or send an email to lehman.library@metmuseum.org.
