Trinity Bells: a tale of old New York

Trinity Bells: a tale of old New York
Barr, Amelia E. (1831–1919)
Illustrated by C. M. Relyea
New York: J. F. Taylor and Company, 1900

The cover of this book is attributed to Thomas Watson Ball, an important book designer employing Impressionist and Pointillist techniques.  A large number of his book covers feature silhouettes.  Silver (white metal) stamping, called white metal stamping – a combination of palladium and aluminum which would not tarnish – was unusual for this time.  Signed “T~” in upper left corner of front cover.
